National Council of Women
The National Council of Women (NCW) is a co-ordinating, philantropic body of women that aims to act to improve the status of women and the well-being of society; to present a broad and comprehensive view of women's opinions on matters of national interest and cultural traditions based on human rights; and to make women more aware not only of their rights but also of their civic, moral, political and social responsibilities to society as a whole.

National Commission for the Promotion of Equality
The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) is an independent, government funded body set up by virtue of Chapter 456 the Laws of Malta in January 2004. The primary task of NCPE is to monitor the implementation of:
- Cap 456 - Equality for Men and Women Act;
- Legal Notice 85 of 2007 - Equal Treatment of Persons Order;
- Legal Notice 181 of 2008 - Access to Goods and Services and their Supply (Equal Treatment) Regulations;
- Legal Notice 316 of 2011 - Procedure for Investigation Regulations;
The Commission works to ensure that Maltese society is a society free from any form of discrimination based on:
- Sex/gender and family responsibilities, sexual orientation, age, religion or belief, racial or ethnic origin, and gender identity in employment; banks and financial institutions, as well as education; and
- Racial / ethnic origin and gender in the provision of goods and services and their supply.

Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment (CITE)
The national mechanism for the promotion of equality between men and women in labour and employment works in the dependence of the Government member responsible for the area of Solidarity Employment and Social Security, together with the members of the Government responsible for the area of Parliamentary Affairs and Equality. It is a tripartite commission composed of representatives from government and social partners.
The Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment (CITE) was created in 1979 in order to fight discrimination and promote equality between women and men in labour, in employment and in vocational training.
Its main responsibilities are to promote:
- Equality and non-discrimination between women and men in labour, in employment and in vocational training;
- Protection of parentality (maternity, paternity and adoption);
- Reconciliation of professional, personal and family life.
